Our Junior 4 class is made up of 8 pupils aged 4-6 years old.
In our class, we love to have fun by learning, growing and experiencing activities that are tailored to each of us. Participate in 1:1, small group and group activities with an emphasis on play-based learning which is so important to us.
We enjoy daily structured learning within our classroom setting using visual strategies such as schedules, PECS and Makaton which help us access our curriculum. As well as this, we follow a curriculum that is tailored to each of us, allowing us to access a wide range of areas for our learning such as Communication, Thinking skills, Our Emotional Wellbeing, Physical Development, Our Community and how our world works. Our week is always full of exciting things to do and learn and our class team works hard to personalise learning for each pupil.
Some of our favourite activities include Structured Play, Circle time, Attention Autism (Bucket), Forest School, Soft Play and Music (especially Jo Jingles)!
We are currently working hard on developing our personal, social and communication skills through using PECS and becoming more independent in our life skills (e.g. Putting on our coat and shoes independently). Also, we are learning how to share and turn-take in class and how to be a kind friend which J2 are working so hard on!
