Junior 2 is a class made up of 6 pupils aged 4-6.
In our class we love to learn through play and experience a wide range of activities that are tailored to suit our individual needs. We enjoy participating in small group activities with our peers and on a 1:1 basis.
Communication is very important within our class and we make good use of visual strategies such as schedules, Makaton and PECs to help us express ourselves and to access the curriculum. We use a thematic approach in our learning to help us explore about the world around us. This filters into all aspects of our learning such as Literacy, Numeracy, Art and Music.
Some of our favourite activities include Attention Autism, TAC PAC and messy play (the messier the better!). We are also really enjoying our Mindfulness sessions. We are very lucky to have frequent access to wonderful facilities in our school such as Soft Play, the Sensory Room, Sensory Circuits and our Forest School.
We keep in daily contact with home to keep our parents up to date with our new achievements and experiences through the Class Dojo app.
