3F - Miss Fitzpatrick's Class
Welcome to 3F
We are a key stage 3 room, and we currently have 8 pupils between the ages of 10 and 14. In our class we use a thematic approach to learning and all programmes are tailored to suit the individual needs of each pupil within the class. There is a strong emphasis on the use of visuals and structure which enables the pupils to access the curriculum in a meaningful way. We also encourage and develop independence and communication skills across all areas. Pupils enjoy working and learning both in small groups and on a 1:1 basis.
In our class there is also a strong emphasis on developing self help skills and independent living skills. Pupils are encouraged to develop greater independence in skills such as dressing, brushing teeth, making a snack, sorting cutlery, setting the table, washing and drying dishes, hoovering and pairing socks.
Some of our favourite activities include swimming, attention autism, forest schools, music therapy and using the class interactive whiteboard for phonics and numeracy activities.
