About Our Class
Junior 4 is a happy and welcoming class of eight children aged 7–8. We pride ourselves on creating a caring, structured environment where every child’s learning journey is supported and celebrated.
Our curriculum is designed to help children grow in all areas, including:
- Communication
- Thinking Skills
- Emotional Wellbeing
- Physical Development
- Understanding the World
- Life Skills
How We Learn
We use a variety of visual and communication strategies—such as individual schedules, PECS, Makaton, and Core Learning Boards—so that every child can access learning in a way that works best for them.
Each day is a mix of 1:1 time, small-group work, and whole-class activities, giving children the chance to build confidence, independence, and friendships.
What We Enjoy
Our weekly timetable is full of exciting, hands-on experiences. Some of our class favourites include:
- Circle Time
- Attention Autism (Bucket) – Phonics, Numeracy and Topic Work
- Forest School
- Soft Play
- Music sessions with Jo Jingles
We also encourage independence in daily routines, such as putting on coats and shoes—small steps that make a big difference!
Our Class Ethos
In Junior 4, every success is valued, and we celebrate progress at each child’s own pace. Our classroom is a positive, inclusive space where children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn.
